Hi – this is me, (Merlin) with my mom (Linda). My Dad calls me the “empty nest dog” – all I know is that my Mom loves me and takes really good care of me and my friends when they visit. She worked in a Veterinary Hospital for many years as an Office Manager and Vet Assistant and has lots of experience taking care of dogs and cats. She has training in Pet First Aid and is a certified and licensed SAMP (Small Animal Massage Practitioner) working out of K-9 Aquatics in Sammamish. I REALLY like going to work with her when she goes to the spa.
She also worked in two different boarding kennels. Lots of the dogs at the kennels are very happy, but some of them aren’t, and she thinks those critters should stay in their own houses when their people go on vacation. Some of us just like it better that way.
She takes me to lots of training, agility and trick classes and on lots of hikes and I have a certification from the Delta Society to do Animal Assisted Therapy with her. Next time your people go away for a while, give my Mom a try…I promise, she’ll take really good care of you.
